MATAN: Ubayy bin Ka’ab (raz.) se rivayat hai ke, Umar bin Khattab (raz.) ne Unhein Ramazan ki Raat me Namaz (Taraweeh) Parhaane ka Hukm dete hue Farmaya: “Log Din me Rozah rakhte hain aur wo Behter Taur per Qira’t Nahi kar sakte, Agar Aap Raat (Taraweeh) me Qira’t karein to Behter hoga.”
To farmaya: “Ae Ameerul-Mu’mineen.! Ye Aisa Amal hai Jo Ab tak (Mustaqil taur per Ba-Jama’t) Nahi hua.”
To Umar (raz.) ne farmaya: “Yaqeenan Main Jaanta hoon, Lekin Ye Achha Kaam hai.”
Pas Aap (Ubay bin Ka’ab (raz.)) ne 20 Raka’t (Taraweeh) Parhayi. [Musnad Ahmed bin Manee’ Ba-Hawala Al-Ahadees Al-Mukhtarah Jild 3, Page 367]

TANBIYAH: Chounke MUSNAD AHMED BIN MANEE’ Humein Tiba’ hui Nahi mili hai Lihaaza AL-MUKHTARAH ka Hum Yahan per Scan Laga rahe hain. Aur Ziauddin Al-Maqdasi (rah.) Ka Kisi Hadees ko TAKHREEJ Karna Unke Nazdeek Uski TASHEEH shumaar hoti hai.

Chunanchah Ghair-Muqallid Zubair Ali Zai ne likha hai: “Ziya’ Al-Maqdasi (rah.) ne Ye Asar Apni AL-MUKHTARAH me la kar Apne Nazdeek Iska SAHEEH hona sabit kar diya hai.” Phir likha [Dekhiye Ikhtisaar Al-Uloom Al-Hadees Page 77; Ba-Hawala Te’daad Raka’t Qiyaam-e-Ramazan Page 23]

Mazeid AL-MUKHTARAH ke Muhaqqiq Abdul Malik Dahish ne Is Hadees ki Sanad ko HASAN kaha hai.

Allamah Ibne Taymiyah Al-Hanbali (rah.) farmate hain: “Ye baat Sabit hai ke Hazrat Ubayy bin Ka’b (raz.) Logo’n ko 20 Raka’t Taraweeh aur 3 Raka’t Witr Parhaate the. Isliye Ulema’ ki Aksariyat ki Raa’i me 20 Raka’t hi SUNNAT hai. Kyonke Unhone 20 Raka’t MUHAJIREEN aur ANSAAR (Sahaba) ke saamne Parhi hain aur Kisi ne bhi INKAAR Nahi kiya.” [Fatawa Ibne Taymiyah (rah.) – Kitab: Al-Fiqh – Maslah: Hukm Qunoot Fi Subhi]

قَدْ ثَبَتَ أَنَّ أبي بْنَ كَعْبٍ كَانَ يَقُومُ بِالنَّاسِ عِشْرِينَ رَكْعَةً فِي قِيَامِ رَمَضَانَ وَيُوتِرُ بِثَلَاثِ . فَرَأَى كَثِيرٌ مِنْ الْعُلَمَاءِ أَنَّ ذَلِكَ هُوَ السُّنَّةُ ؛ لِأَنَّهُ أَقَامَهُ بَيْن الْمُهَاجِرِينَ وَالْأَنْصَارِ وَلَمْ يُنْكِرْهُ مُنْكِرٌ .

Hasan Basri (rah.) se Rivayat hai ke, Umar Bin Khattab (raz.) ne Logo ko Ubayy Bin Ka’ab (raz.) (Ki Iqtidaa) Par Ikattha farmaaya to Wo Logo’n ko 20 Raka’t (Taraweeh) Parhaate the. [Sunan Abi Dawood Ba-Hawala Siyar Aa’laam An-Nubala Jild 1, Page 400, 401]

Is rivayat ke Tamam Raavi SIQAH hain aur Hasan Al-Basri (rah.) ne Hazrat Umar (raziallahu anhu) ka Zamana Paaya hai.

TANBIYAH: Sunan Abi Dawood ke Ba’z Nusqo’n me 20 Raka’t (عِشْرِينَ رَكْعَةً) ke Bajaaye 20 Raat (عِشْرِينَ لَيْلَةً) ka Lafz aaya hai. Lihaaza Dono Nusqo ka Aitebaar kiya Jaayega. Ek Nusqe ko maanna aur doosre Nusqe ko Chhor dena Ye MUNKAREEN-E-HADEES ki alamat hai.

Hum Yahan per 5 Muhaddiseen wa Muhaqqiqeen ke Naam lete hain Jinhone 20 Raka’t rivayat kiya hai.

FAAYDAH: 20 Raka’t waale nusqo’n ko 20 Raat waale Nusqo’n per TARJEEH di Jaayegi kyonke Is mazmoon ki (Ya’ni 20 Raka’t ki) bohat si rivayatein maujood hain aur 20 Raat ki Taeed me nahi hain.

FAYDAH: Yahya bin Sa’eed (rah.) ne Hazrat Umar (raz.) ka Zamana nahi Paya hai magar Aap Khairul Quroon ke Neik Siqah Muhaddis hain Lihaza Ye Asar Bilkul SAHEEH hai.

USOOL# 1:
Jam’hoor Muhaddiseen Khusoosan Ahnaf wa Muwalik ke haan Khairul-Quroon ka Irsaal wa Inqita mizr Sihat Nahi. [Quwa’id Fi Uloom Al-Hadees Page 138]

Kuch Logo’n ko is Usool per Aitraz ho sakta hai isliye Iski Wizahat karna zaroori samajhta hoon.

USOOL KI WIZAHAT:

Rasoolullah (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) ne 3 Tibqaat ke KHAIR hone ki SHAHADAT di hai.
1. Sahaba (raziallahu ta’la anhum)
2. Taaba’een (rahmatullahi alaihim)
3. Tabe-Taaba’een (rahmatullahi alaihim)

Imran bin Hussain (raz.) se rivayat hai ke, Rasoolullah (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) ne farmaya: “MERI UMMAT ME SE BEHTAREEN JAMA’T, MERI JAMA’T HAI, PHIR WO JO INKE MUTTASIL HAI, PHIR WO JAMA’T JO INKE MUTTASIL HAI.” [SAHIH BUKHARI; SAHIH MUSLIM]

خَيْرُ أُمَّتِي قَرْنِي ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ

Imam Nawawi Ash-Shaafa’i (rah.) Iski Tashreeh me farmate hain: “SAHEEH BAAT YE HAI KE Rasoolullah (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) Ki Jama’t SAHABA (raziallahu anhum) HAIN, Doosri Jama’t wo Log Jo Sahabah ki (bilaa waasta) Pairvi karne waale hain Ya’ni Taaba’een, Teesri Jama’t Wo Log Jo (bilaa waasta) Taaba’een ke peeche Chalne waale hain Ya’ni Tabe’ Taaba’een.” [Sharah Muslim]


وَالصَّحِيح أَنَّ قَرْنه صَلَّى اللَّه عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الصَّحَابَة ، وَالثَّانِي التَّابِعُونَ ، وَالثَّالِث تَابِعُوهُمْ

Rasoolullah (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) ne In 3 TIBQAAT ke KHAIR hone ki SHAHAADAT de kar Inki TAUSEEQ Kar di hai.

KHAIRUL QUROON ke Raavi ki HADEES Us waqt Na-Qaabile Hujjat hogi Jab Khairul Quroon ke Hazraat ne Uski Hadees ko RADD kar diya ho. Aur Agar Khairul Quroon ke As’haab-e-Khair ne Uski Hadees ko Radd Nahi kiya to Phir Khwaah Hadees bayan karne wale Raavi ki Ta’yyun Na ho (Ya’ni Siqah hai Ya Za’eef iska faislah Nahi kiya gaya ho) aur Uska Haal ma’loom Na ho balke Maj’hool ho Tab bhi Wo Hadees Hujjat hogi.

Aur agar Hadees ki Sanad me Inqata’ Ya Irsaal ho Ya’ni Koi Raavi Chhoota hua ho (Ya’ni Munqata’ ya Mursal Hadees ho) Tab bhi Wo Hadees HUJJAT hogi.

Raavi ke Maj’hool Ya Matrook hone ki wajah se Isliye Hadees Hujjat Nahi rehti ke Mumkin hai Wo Maj’hool Ya Matrook Raavi Za’eef aur Na-Qabil Aitemaad ho. Ye sirf Ek Ahtemaal (possibility) hai Jab ke Rasoolullah (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) ne In Teeno Jama’ton ki TAUSEEQ kar di hai to Inme Asal ADAALAT wa SIQAAHAT hai aur Ye Yaqeeni Faislah hai. Isliye agar in 3 Tibqaat ke Raavi Maj’hool ho Tab bhi Uski rivayat kardah Hadees Hujjat hogi, Sanad me Inqitaa’ ho Tab bhi Hujjat hogi ke In 3 Tibqaat ke Raavi ke Saqoot ki wajah se SANAD me Inqita’ wa Irsaal Ya Raavi ki Jihaalat Maujab-e-Zu’af Nahi banti.

Ta’jjub hai Un Logon par Jo Khairul Quroon ke Sadiyon ba’d paida hone waale Muhaddiseen ki Ijtihaadi Aaraa’ aur Be-Sanad Aqwaal ka to A’itebaar karte hain Lekin Khairul Quroon ke As’haabul Khair par aitemaad Nahi karte haalaanke Inke Khair Wa As’haab-e-Khair hone par Khud Rasoolullah (sallallahu alaihi wa sallam) ne SHAHAADAT di hai.

TANBIYAH: Pas Ahnaf ke Usool se Ye rivayat bilkul SAHEEH hai aur Agar Ghair-Muqallideen ko is Hadees per Aitraz hai to Kisi Khairul Quroon ke Mu’tabar Rijaal se Is Hadees ka Radd sabit karein..?

USOOL# 2: Imam Shafa’i (rah.) farmate hain: “Mursal ka I’tizaad (Taa’eed) Jab Kisi doosre Tareeq se hojaye Jo Tareeq Awwal ke Mubaayyan hi kyon na ho to MAQBOOL hoti hai chaahe wo doosra Tareeq Musnad ho ya Mursal.” [Nuzhatun Nazar Fi Tauzeeh Nukhbatul Fikr page 101]

Imam Abu Hanifah wa Imam Malik waghera Ulema’ (rah.) ke Nazdeek MUTLAQAN MURSAL hujjat hai lekin Imam Shafa’i (rah.) ke Nazdeek MURSAL MU’TAZID (Ya’ni Mursal rivayat ke Mazmoon ki Ta’eed Kisi Doosri Mursal Ya Musnad se ho Jaaye) Hujjat hai. Aur Firqa Ahlul Hadees ke nazdeek bhi MURSAL MU’TAZID Hujjat hai.

Yahya bin Sa’eed (rah.) ki Is rivayat ki Ta’eed Muttasil aur Mursal dono tarah ki rivayato se hoti hai. Lihaaza MUKHALIFEEN ke Is Usool ke tehat bhi Ye Asar bilkul SAHEEH hai.

5. Yazeed bin Roomaan (rahmatullahi alaih):

FAYDAH: Yazeed bin Roomaan (rah.) ki Hazrat Umar (raz.) se Mulaqat sabit nahi hai Lekin Aap KHAIRUL QUROON ke SIQAH Raavi hain, Jhoote Nahi hain aur Ahnaf wa Malikiyah waghera ke nazdeek Khairul Quroon ka Irsaal Sihat Hadees ke liye Mizr nahi aur Mazeid Ye Rivayat MURSAL MU’TAZID hai (Ya’ni Iski Ta’eed me Doosri Muttasil aur Mursal rivayatein maujood hain). Lihaza Ye ASAR Bilkul SAHEEH hai.

6. Muhammad bin Ka’b Al-Qurzi (rahmatullahi alaih):
MATAN: Muhammad bin Ka’b Al-Qurzi (rah.) farmate hain: “Hazrat Umar bin Khattab (raz.) ke Zamaane me Log Ramazan me 20 Raka’t (Taraweeh) Parhte, Usme Qira’t ko Lamba karte aur 3 Raka’t Witr parhte.” [Mukhtasar Qiyaamul Layl Page No. 220; Tiba’: Faisalabad, Pakistan]

MATAN: Sa’ib bin Yazeed (raziallahu anhu) rivayat karte hain ke: “Hazrat Umar (raziallahu ta’la anhu) ke Ahad (Daur, Period) me Log (Sahaba-e-Kiraam wa Taaba’een ba-Jama’t) Ramazan ke Maheene me 20 raka’t padhte the. Is Hadees ki SANAD ko Jalaluddin Suyooti (rah.) ne SAHIH kaha hai. [Al-Masabeeh Page 13]
Allamah Nawawi (rah.) ne bhi Is Hadees ki Sanad ko SAHIH kaha hai. [Khulasatul Ahkaam Page 576]

Ye Hadees SAHIH BUKHARI ki Shart per SAHIH hai.

Ali Ibnul Ja’d (rah.) Jamhoor Muhaddiseen ke Nazdeek SIQAH SUDOOQ Raavi hain Magar Imam Hakim (rah.) ki tarah Ye bhi Shia’ hain. Lekin Inka SHIA’ hona SIHAT HADEES ke liye Mizr Nahi. Isiliye Imam Bukhari (rah.) ne inse apni JAMI’ SAHEEH me Kul 14 rivayatein laayi hain.

Chunanchah Zubair Ali ne likha hai: “Jis Raavi ka Siqah wa Sudooq hona sabit ho jaaye, Uska Qadri, Khaarji, Shia’, Mu’tazali, Jehmi, Murji waghera hona SIHAT HADEES ke khilaf Nahi hai ba-shart ye ke wo Apni Bid’aat ki taraf Daa’i wa Daa’iyah na ho…….”
Phir Tanbiyah ke taur per likha hai ke Agar Wo Apni BID’AAT ki taraf Da’wat dene wala ho ya na ho tab bhi Qubool hai. [Dekhiye Noorul Ainain Page 63]

Is Hadees ki SANAD ko Allamah Tajuddin Subki (rah.) ne [Sharah Al-Minhaj] me aur Mullah Ali Qari (rah.) ne [Sharah Al-Muatta] me SAHEEH kaha hai.

Is rivayat me Abu Tahir Al-Faqeeh aur Abu Usman Al-Basri (rah.) ko MAJHOOL bata kar Ghair-Muqallideen Is Hadees ka Inkar kar dete hain.

Agar Ye dono Raavi Maj’hool hote to Allamah Subki aur Mullah Ali Qari (rah.) iski SANAD ko SAHIH Nahi kehte. Zaroor unke Paas In do Raaviyo ke baare me Koi Ilm zaroor tha isliye Unhone Iski SANAD ko SAHEEH kaha hai. Iske alawah Ghair-Muqallideen ke Peishwa Albani ne bhi inse marwi Hadees ko JAYYID (Ya’ni HASAN) kaha hai. [Silsalatul Za’eefah 11/786]

Ziauddin Maqdasi (rah.) ne inse marwi Hadees ki TAKHREEJ kar ke In do Raaviyo ki TAUSEEQ kar di hai. [Al-Ahadees Al-Mukhtarah 6/47]

Ghair-Muqallid Zubair Ali Zai ne likha hai: “Ziya’ Al-Maqdasi ne Al-Mukhtarah me Ye Asar la kar Apne Nazdeek iska SAHEEH hona sabit kar diya.” [Tedad Rakat Qiyam Ramazan Page 23]

Zyada Tafseel yahan per mumkin nahi hai. Ghair-Muqallideen Hazraat se guzarish hai ke wo batayein ke, ANGREZI DAUR se pehle Kis Mu’tabar Muhaddis ne in Do Raaviyo ko MAJHOOL bataya hai.?

Muhammad bin Yusuf (rah.) ne Yazeed bin Khusayfah wa Al-Haris bin Abdur Rahman (rah.) se do bato’n me Iqtilaf kiya hai..

(A) Ibne Khusayfah aur Ibne Abdur Rahman (rah.) Qariyo’n ki Te’daad nahi bataate aur Ibne Yusuf (rah.) ne do batayi hai Ubayy bin Ka’b aur Tameem Dari (raziallahu anhum).

(B) Ibne Khusayfah aur Ibne Abdur Rahman (rah.) Taraweeh mae Witr 23 Raka’t rivayat karte hain aur Ibne Yusuf (rah.) Iztiraab ka shikaar hue hain 11, 13, 21 rivayat karte hain.

Muhammad Bin Yusuf (rah.) se Is Hadees ko Rivayat karne waale Unke Shagirdo’n ki Tafseel kuch yu hai…
(i). Imam Malik (rah.) 11 Raka’t naql karte hain. [Muatta Imam Malik]
(ii): Yahya bin Saeed Alqattaan (rah.) bhi 11 Raka’t naql karte hain. [Musannaf Ibne Abi Shaybah]
(iii). Abdul Azeez Bin Muhammad (rah.) bhi 11 Raka’t naql karte hain. [Sunan Saeed Bin Abi Mansur]
(iv). Muhammad Bin Is’haaq (rah.) 13 Raka’t Naql karte hain. [Qiyamullayl Lil Marwazi]
(v). Dawood Bin Qays (rah.) waghera 21 Raka’t Naql karte hain. [Musannaf Abdur Razzaq]

Is Tafseel se Ma’loom hua ke Muhammad bin Yusuf (rah.) Apne 3 Shagirdo’n ko 11 Raka’t rivayat karte hain aur Ek Shagird ko 13 Raka’t aur Ek Shagird ko 21 Raka’t.

Baat bas Itni hi Nahi hai balke Inki rivayat ke Alfaaz me bhi Iztiraab Paaya Jata hai.
(i). Imam Malik (rah.) ki rivayat me Umar (raz.) ka Hukm, Ubay bin Ka’ab wa Tameem Dari (raz.) ka zikr aur 11 Raka’t ka Zikr hai magar Konsi Namaz Parhi gayi aur Na Ramazan ka zikr hai.

(ii). Yahya bin Saeed (rah.) ki rivayat me Umar (raz.) ka Hukm nahi hai aur Na Ramazan ka zikr hai.

(iii). Abdul Azeez bin Muhammad (rah.) ki rivayat me Na to Umar (raz.) ke Hukm ka zikr hai, Na Ubay bin Ka’ab wa Tameem Dari (raz.) ka aur Na hi Ramazan ka zikr hai.

In Teen rivayato ne Te’dad-e-Raka’t Taraweeh 11 batayi hai magar Kisi ka bhi bayan Ek Jaisa Nahi hai balke inme bhi Shadeed Iqtilaf hua hai.

(iv). Muhammad bin Is’haaq (rah.) ki rivayat me Ramazan ka zikr to hai magar 11 ke bajaaye 13 Raka’t ka zikr aaya hai aur Umar (raz.) ke Hukm ka zikr nahi.

(v). Dawood bin Qays (rah.) waghera ki rivayat me Umar (raz.) ka Hukm hai Magar 11 ke bajaaye 21 Raka’t ka zikr hai.

Khulasah ye hai ke Muhamamd Bin Yusuf (rah.) ki ye rivayat SHADEED MUZTARIB hai aur MATAN ka IZTIRAB Wajah ZU’AF hota hai.

IZTIRAAB HADEES KO ZA’EEF BANA DETA HAI:
Imam Nawawi (rah.) farmate hain: “Iztiraab rivayat ko Za’eef bana deta hai” [Taqreebun Nawawi Ma’e Sharah Tadreeb Pg:234]

Lihaaza Muhammad bin Yusuf (rah.) se marwi Ye 5 rivayatein IZTIRAB MATAN ki wajah se ZA’EEF aur Na Qabile Hujjat hain.

FAAYDAH: Chounke Muhammad bin Yusuf (rah.) se marwi Ye rivayat 20 Raka’t rivayat karne waale Kayi Ruvaath ke khilaf hai, isliye Ulema’ ne 2 Mauqaf Apnaaye hain.

(I) TARJEEH: Allamah Ibne Abdul Barr (rah.) likhte hain: Mere Nazdeek GHALIB yehi hai ke Raavi ka Qoul “11 Raka’t” WEHAM hai. [Sharah Muatta Zarqani 1/215]

Ibne Abdul Barr (rah.) ne Isko Imam Malik (rah.) ka WEHAM bataya hai magar Ye Muhammad bin Yusuf (rah.) ka WEHAM hai. Allahu Aalam.

(II) TATBEEQ: Allamah Badruddin Aini (rah.) likhte hain: “Mumkin hai ye (11 Raka’t) Umar (raz.) ka Pehle ka amal ho Jo 23 Raka’t tak Ja Pohncha ho.” [Umdatul Qari Sharah Sahih Bukhari 8/246]

Jin Ulema’ ne Hazrat Umar (raz.) ke daur me 11 Raka’t Taraweeh mae Witr ko Tasleem kiya hai Unhone 23 Raka’t Taraweeh mae Witr ko bhi Tasleem kiya hai. Lihaaza Firqa Ahlul Hadees ke Fareibiyo se Hoshyaar ho Jaayein Kyonke wo Log 11 Raka’t waale Aqwaal ko Peish kar ke Aap Logo’n ko FAREIB dene ki Koshish na karne lag Jayein.

Hazrat Umar (raziallahu anhu) ke daur me Te’daad Raka’t Taraweeh ka Ye MUKHTASAR sa Jayezah hai. Warna Aitrazat bhi bohat saare hain aur Jawabat bhi bohat Saare dene baaqi hain. Lekin Koi Insaf Pasand Dil se Is Article ko Parh lega to Yaqeenan Uski Samajh me baat aa Jayegi.

Allah Ta’la se dua’ hai ke Humein aur Tamam Musalmano ko DEEN ki Sahih Samajh ata farmaaye. (Aameen)

    Yahya related to me from Malik that Yazid ibn Ruman said,”The people used to watch the night in prayer during Ramadaan for 23 rak’ahs (i.e 20 rak’ahs of Taraweeh, followed by 3 rak’ahs of witr) in the time of Umar ibn al-Khattab.” (vide: al-Muwatta, 6.2, No. 5, pg. 48, English ed’n)

    The Hadith has been given a full Isnad (chain) by either Imam Ibn Abdal Barr al-Maliki (d. 463/1071; Rahimahullah) or Shaykh Muhammad Habibullah ibn Mayabi ash-Shanqiti (Rahimahullah), in their thorough research to complete all the chains of transmission (Isnad) which have an incomplete chain; as found in the Muwatta of Imam Malik!

    Ibn Abdal-Barr collected together all the mursal, munqati and mu’addil Hadiths in the Muwatta and said that the total number of Hadiths in the Muwatta which do not have an Isnad are sixty one. He stated that he found the isnads of all of them in other sources with the exception of four Hadiths. The erudite scholar of Hadith, Shaykh Muhammad Habibullah ibn Mayabi ash-Shanqiti says in Ida’a al-Halik that he had found witnesses for these four Hadith and he then mentioned these witnesses. He said, ‘Some of the people of knowledge made these isnads complete.’ He mentioned from Ibn Abdal-Barr that there was no munkar(rejected) Hadith in the Muwatta, nor anything fundamentally refuted.”

    Now, my question is:
    1. is this true that imam ibn abdal barr made this sanad complete? If it is true,then please give me the picture.
    2. Is same the true for Shaykh Muhammad Habibullah ibn Mayabi ash-Shanqiti ? If it is true,then please give me the picture.
